After five years of flipping patties and building a loyal following near downtown Jackson, Doll N’ Burgers is making a bold move—trading its original Cooper Street location (formerly a Wendy’s) for a fresh start at the old Big Dog BBQ site on 1200 W Parnall Road in Blackman Township.
Why the Move?
The decision wasn’t just about expansion—it was survival. Ongoing construction on Cooper Street throughout 2025 has wreaked havoc on local businesses, with Doll N’ Burgers reporting a staggering 50% drop in sales. Between broken water lines, electrical issues, and limited customer access, the team faced repeated closures and mounting pressure.
“We just want to be able to keep our staff employed,” said Mike Jacobson, Culinary Director of Doll N’ Burgers. “We can’t operate at the level of sales we have right now. So being able to move to a new location with a lot more traffic… keeps our staff happy and keeps the community happy”.
What’s Next?
The new location—once home to Big Dog BBQ—is nestled in a higher-traffic area with a stronger community presence. Store Manager Taylor Miller shared that the team is excited to connect with new customers from the northwest side of Jackson, many of whom didn’t even know the Cooper Street location existed.
“We have our regulars, we know them by name,” Miller said. “Now we get to serve a whole new part of Jackson that we haven’t reached before”.
Opening Timeline
The team is aiming for a mid-to-late September opening, just in time to catch the fall crowd and reintroduce their locally-sourced, farm-fresh menu to a new neighborhood.
Community Impact
For Jackson residents, this move is more than just a change of address—it’s a testament to resilience. Doll N’ Burgers opened during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, offering jobs and comfort food when the community needed it most. Now, five years later, they’re doubling down on their commitment to Jackson by adapting and expanding.
If you’re planning your next burger run, keep an eye out for the new Doll N’ Burgers sign on Parnall Road. The grill’s getting fired up again—and Jackson’s burger scene is about to get a whole lot tastier.
