Luna Lux Lounge Brings Sophisticated Nightlife to Downtown Jackson

Downtown Jackson is set to elevate its nightlife scene with the grand opening of Luna Lux Lounge on Friday, August 1, 2025.

Located at 128 W. Michigan Avenue, this new establishment promises an intimate and elegant experience for patrons seeking craft cocktails and live entertainment.

Owners Jeremiah and Ella Hephzibah, known for their successful venture Big Guy Catering, have transformed the former Junk Yard Dog space into a sophisticated lounge.

Their vision is to provide a refined setting for date nights and social gatherings.

"We wanted to create a space that brings the art back to cocktailing," Ella Hephzibah shared.

"Our focus is on the presentation and experience, offering drinks served in coupe glasses, smoked old fashioneds, and iridescent bubbles."

The menu features classic cocktails like negronis, cosmos, martinis, Moscow mules, and palomas, all enhanced with house-made simple syrups.

A standout is the Cotton Candy Martini, adorned with a cloud of cotton candy to enhance its visual appeal.

The lounge's interior boasts marble tables, velvet furniture, black walls, and dim lighting, creating a rich and inviting atmosphere.

During renovations, a back wall was removed to reveal a stage from the building's past as the Capitol Theatre.

This stage will host live music, comedy, and open mic nights, featuring genres like jazz, blues, R&B, and soul.

Complementing the drink offerings, the Hephzibahs plan to introduce a food menu inspired by Creole cuisine.

Dishes will include bourbon peach-glazed chicken wings, shrimp and grits, blackened salmon, and beignets.

"We're aiming for bold flavors and sophisticated presentation," Jeremiah Hephzibah noted.

Operating hours are 5 to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 5 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
