The streets of downtown Jackson rumbled to life on Friday night for the beloved monthly cruise-in car show.
Organized by the Jackson DDA, the event transforms key areas like Michigan Avenue into a rolling museum, drawing hundreds of residents and visitors.
For local owners like Shain Kahn, it’s a chance to share tangible pieces of history, like his 1948 Plymouth, and connect with the community over a shared passion.
The gathering is far more than just a car show; it's a full-blown community festival.
The atmosphere is filled with food trucks, local vendors, and live entertainment, including performances from groups like the Great Lakes Cloggers.
This blend of nostalgia and vibrant local culture has become a cherished summer tradition.
Don't miss the final Cruise-In & Concert of the year, which is scheduled for September, marking the last chance this season to experience the unique event. Read More... |

Downtown Jackson was sizzling with flavor and fall spirit yesterday as the 5th Annual K105.3 Fall Fest & Chili Classic brought thousands together for one of the city’s most beloved seasonal traditions. From noon to 7 p.m., Michigan Avenue transformed into a vibrant corridor of chili aromas, live music, local vendors, and community joy.
Chili Showdown with a Twist
The heart of the event was the Chili Classic, where over 30 teams fired up their burners and served up 10 gallons of homemade chili each. Attendees grabbed $5 tasting wristbands and voted for their favorites, while a panel of judges conducted blind tastings to crown the best in multiple categories. Thanks to a partnership with Polly’s Country Market, early registrants received $100 gift cards to help cover ingredients—fueling creativity and competition.
Live Entertainment & Local Flavor
Two stages kept the energy high with performances from regional bands and entertainers, while vendor booths lined the streets offering handmade goods, fall treats, and Jackson pride. The Social District was in full swing, letting guests sip local brews and cocktails as they strolled through the festivities. Read More... |
